MESSAGE FROM BLUESCOPE
Principal Corporate Partner
The Institute has prepared a set of
recommendations to the government that will
help to correct this situation. These measures
seek to do four things:
•provide greater support for certifiers and
better communication between council and
certifiers;
•tighten up the areas where there is
currently wide discretion;
•provide detail and inspections of works at
the time when it is efficient to do so and
have the greatest impact; and
•provide an efficient workflow for inevitable
changes to be approved.
Mentoring program
Mentoring fits squarely within the three pillars
of the Institute. It is an invaluable initiative
the Institute runs for members. Nurturing our
young architects makes both the profession
and their careers stronger and more
successful. The revived program is now in its
second year and was again over-subscribed
this year.
I would like to express my huge thanks to
Monica Love for her excellent and hard work
to achieve this year’s mentoring program
success. Many thanks also to Monica Edwards
and Leone Lorrimer for their support.
Chapter Council on the road
This initiative has been a great way for
Chapter Council to meet members on their
home turf, in conversation on what they
see as the Institute’s priorities, and ideas
to strengthen the relationship between the
networks and the Institute. Meetings have
been hosted by the Inner West Network,
HASSELL, the Country Division and Greater
West Architects Network.
